    I'm about to purchase a driver backrest(part# 51631-09a)-or-(old# 51631-09).
The H-D parts guy says it may be a different manufacture but,he's not sure.
I'm wondering if there is an update in the bracket/design or is it just a different supplier as stated by the parts guy?
Please give me some feed-back...don't like buying "old" design inventory.:(
    Thanks,00 wildglide:cool:

Either one, a new supplier or change to the design ie PN is superceded.

    Thanks hotroadking,
I did purchase the driver backrest yesterday & found out the mounting hardware was extra(I guess I didn't see fine print:banghead:).
The hardware kit I bought was the most current available so I guess all should work out.
:D The dealership gave 15% off yesterday!!!(very, very, rare). Now I just have to find some time to install it.(my 8yr. old plays baseball, basketball,& tennis)
    Thanks again!,00 wildglide:cool:

    Not happy w/rider back rest

I installed the bracket & back rest set-up this afternoon only to find out it (the base bracket) can only be positioned in the two far forward positions:rant: .
If I use it in this position I feel like I'm being pushed too close to the front of the gas tank.
Now the bracket has mounting marks on it as well as the stalks of the backrest.I guess I'll try to sell this.I FU_king Pissed!!!:banghead:
I don't understand why they(H-D) would make the "streetglide" backrest to match the seat if really does not work with it.
I'm done with the Harley seats & their crappy fitment.
Sorry guys,I'm just mad about the $$$ that went down the toilet.00 wildglide

    Cowboy,
I know I could make it work via cut out molded hump under seat, drill & install new blind nut for seat bracket,yada,yada,yada...but,
it ain't gonna happen.I may try a Danny Gray touring seat down the road but for now I think I'll just leave it alone. (so says the wife:rolleyes: )
I still need to get my Pics posted with my "chopped" tour-pac on & chrome engine/trans. package installed.
