Early evo wheels for a shovel case

    does anyone know if flywheels from an 89 evo will fit into a 78 shovel case, i think all i need isto change the pinion shaft. please help my shovel wheels are shot and my evo are good

    that was my understanding as well. but i am being told that it might not work by the local shop

    i will have to go with cowboy on this one maybe the dealer/shop is unsure:rolleyes: It is definately worth the investigation, and i'll bet HRK can field that when he gets on

    thanks, thats what i am going with as well. i am sure they will fit. i called my guy in milwaukee but he isnt home right now. i am going to send them down to the shop and have them re true them and put them in. thanks guys. i just wanted to make sure i was thinking right

    since we are on wheels, will a front wheel off a 90's Fatboy fit on a 2003 Fatboy?

    Different "wheels" being talked about here, but to answer your question the evos have a 3/4"axle and the twinkies use a 1" axle.

    If its a 74" shovel and your swapping flywheels and rods,the 74" shovel is a shorter stroke than the Evos.
    The early evos did share a lot of bottom end parts with the 80" shovels
