Well here I sit with bum knee ( made worse by slipping in driveway this morning putting trash out) 8 stitches behind right ear 6 on left neck at should from Saturday visit with dermatologist to remove basal cell cancers and looking at a collapsed kitchen soffit thanks to an apparent ice dam on 2nd story roof that has water running behind 2 story siding into kicked out 1 st story roof and into as of December new soffit. Water, Sheetrock snd insulation all over the kitchen and a contractor tearing my siding and outside soffits to find leak without success. 5 pm EST I'm into the bourbon. What a minute it's 5 o'clock somewhere

Dang Fatboy, do you have any valleys on that roof where possibly two roofs come together?
Some times the water will go behind the flashing and run down a wall or inside a roof.

Got the 4X4 out this morning. Everything was ok just couldn't get back up the driveway, to much ice from the freezing rain we got. Was sliding down sideways going down but got it straightened out at the bottom. FUKING ice. Only slipped once walking back up from the street. I put salt down and you should have salted where your walking then took the wife to the grocery store. Got it back up in 4X4 low.
    Falling at our age sucks.

Just got a call from a friend who just told me another friend had a heart attack and died yesterday. Must have been out shoveling snow. He was probably 8 years younger than me and CB. I hate snow.

It's not the fall, it's the impact that hurts :dead:

No valleys. Heat from house melted snow on roof. Edge of roof not over living space was still frozen hence ice dam shingles got lifted water came in and onto outside soffits. Traveled into wall down wall into first floor. Need roof

sorry to hear you got hurt. We have to worry about that at our age, I do anyways. Late fall I start stock piling bags of salt and in the ready. My front door stoop, the front door walkway and especially the drive way vasilate between either snow or ice from the melting snow. Salt makes a difference. Hope this finds you on the mend.
