I have a 73 FXE and the brake light has not been working. One of the three circuit breakers under the seat keeps kicking in and out. I have not been able to find a problem so I replaced all three of the 15 amp breakers, seeing as they are all 31 years old. Now I have no power at all. I am told there is a 40 amp breaker somewhere. Does anybody know where that would be located? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Call me dumby, but I found a wire that was to hook to the battery but fell behind the oil tank. I rehooked that rascal up and voila, I have power again. I think I have actually found the original problem. Once I unhook the brake light wires from the switch on the front brake lever, the circuit breaker quits cycling. If I touch the wires the break light functions. Alas, a faulty front brake light switch.
