    Hello

Installing an engine guard tomorrow. Picking up a torque wrench at Sears to make sure I meet the specs. But the installation instructions don't mention using Loctite. Its a genuine Harley part.

What's the consenus, Loctite or not (red or blue)?

    Thanks
    Phil

yes use it , I like the Blue it's pretty :D I do use the blue for parts I might have to remove , to do any type of work in that area it holds good & will come loose with a good socket , & it you TQ it it should stay untill you want it off

It's a Harley, use the loctite, Blue so it will come apart when you want it to but won't back out on it's own.

Loctite is a must, as is on race cars also. The saying in drag cars is if its not Loctited or doesnt have a nyloc on it, it WILL come off. Blue is removable, and Red needs slight heat for removing. Make sure screw threads are clean, and Shake the Loctite before using.

and just a dab i'll do you.

IF you use red, just a drop or two is a lot for a small bolt.

Blue is preferred for things you might have to take off like the engine guard
