First time on the site here...I have a 97 softail, it was running fine but sat up for a couple months (too much work, not enuff play). When I finally cranked it up to ride, under acccleration I got a bad miss and the more I accel'd the worse it got. Well put it back in the barn and pulled the carb off, cleaned a bunch of crap out of it. Well I pulled the mixture screw out as well (no lost parts) and after putting it all back together and installing carb, I now have a really bad miss, pretty much starts missing as soon as I start to give throttle, any thoughts?:banghead:

Check for critters in your exhaust? It could happen...

Try the simple stuff first...put a new set of plugs in then check for intake leaks...and critters

when you cleaned the carb, did you also clean the tank? the gas in the tank is bad also. put the mix screw at 2 turns from a light seat.

Might try running some Sea Foam in the gas, the stuff works great... can be used in oil also.
