What Brownjams was trying to say is that the original SE mufflers were produced by Cycle Shack until the SE line was updated. Currently all SE / SEII and some other exhaust components are made by V&H for H-D.

There are many choices in mufflers and most of them are good quality. Cycle Shack is a consistently good performer and I always liked their baffles.
The SEII will be a really common choice and within the next couple of years. I expect that new quieter high performance slip on mufflers and full systems are not too far down the road. Let me rephrase that a little. I know that new systems are not too far out and with the EPA rules being phased in, they will become hot sellers. Within 2-3 years every manufacturer will have a much quieter system that meets EPA rules or they will be way behind the curve.

SE's will be louder than stock but not too loud, usually deeper sounding.

Cycle Shack or Khrome Werks slip ons are reasonably priced and work very well.

Change the air filter and do a carb adjustment at the same time to get the best bang for your buck.
