Exploding spot light

    a friend got home from a short ride and dismounted to open his garage door and as he was opening the door he hears a loud pop and turns around to see one of his spot lights has exploded. the bulb looks like it's melted.
    anyone seen or heard of this happening.

    was it a sealed beam???? did it have the bulb inside of the lens???? got a pic???? i have seen sealed beams break before...usually if the bulb is on for a length of time with no airflow over it...and of a higher wattage. if ya feel the lens it can burn you. a water drop or wet bug can make em break if hot......

    normally these bulbs dnt explore as you are saying but if its sealed then there may be a chance
