I'm extending the front fork tubes on my FLSTCI by 4 inches, I'm thinking that I will need to install a spacer of 4 inches to get the same spring compression with my stock springs. Two questions is this correct and any suggestions on what to use as a spacer, I'm thinking of using a bunch of 1.125 inch washers to make up the 4 inches. Also any ideas on how I know how much fork oil to install after I do this.

the over tubes i have installed have come with all spacers and correct springs in the box....no fabbing to do. the last fabing i remember doing was when i put 6" slugs in a glide front end....back in the late 60's...........them was dangerous times........but that is another story!!!

The "PROGRESSIVE" suspension springs I purchased came with P.V.C. tubes in
different cut lenths.I'm sure you could fabricate some from a local hardware store.

    Fork Tube Extension

Thanks for the replys. No spacers came with the tubes so I made some from Black Iron pipe. Tubes went together fine however now I realize there is a 4 inch gap between the lower sliders and the upper slidders, duh suppose I should have realized this before. I'll have to give this some thought to figure out how I can keep the fat look. I could easily lower the upper sliders but then there would be a gap up near the triple trees. I'll keep ya'll posted.
