I'm talking about a "comfortable" ride distance perceived by you.

I voted once...wanted twice as I have 2 ideas of a "fair cruise"..... for the one where I am just GOING OUT TO RIDE.... I wanted to choose the 150+....I like to just hit the road and go.....200 isn't unreasonable. Now, the other version of cruise that I really enjoy was what I did in Germany with my German co-riders... We would hit the road around 0900, stop someplace around 10 or 1030 for a coffee, then ride again until noon or 1ish, have a lunch, then ride until say 3 or 3:30, and catch another beverage...., then ride into home around say 5-7pm.... VERY leisurely, normally around 100 miles...give or take a few..... I voted for the 50-150 as this is where the most FUN for me is/was....however, if I am riding solo just to ride, 200 in an afternoon or mid-day ride is very pleasant also!!:biker:

My favorite ride is to ride out to Pahrump from Las Vegas and do a 160 mile loop through Death Valley (not in the Summer though). Since it's 70 miles each way to Pahrump..that's a 300 mile day ride..just right in my book.

We have several rides through the N. Georgia mountains that go about 150-200 miles. With all the curves, it feels good to get back on the straight roads after awhile. We sometimes push 300 miles in a day but not often.

in better weather than we are having now, i will ride between 100/150 miles in the evenings. now that may sound a bit high, but as some know, it is 60 miles round trip for me to get gas....i live in the woods....a trip around the block is nearly 100 miles. and my bikes are high milage....06 eg about 14 months old...19,000+ on it. i love to do long rides....500 or so in a day...but succumb to the ol'lady and keep them about 350/400....

Now a days 150 is a fair ride. When I had my FXRT 300+ was common. Leave SanDiego by way of Otay lake out thru Dulzura, stop at the Sticker Patch for a "pop" up across I-8 to Alpine and back down thru El Cajon. Man I miss those days.

    fair

We take off around 10 or 11 am ride northeast then down to Portsmouth..into Kentucky..then eitther shoo straight up back home usually around 400 miles or so....if back before dark. If we shoot to the northwest it'll be dark when we get home and around 500 miles. 20 miles is not even a gallon of gas..LOL......we do that on Sat.... a shorter run on Sunday is around 250. Gotta remember, I and a few friends get a notion have ended up in Kansas City on a Early Sat. morn....just to hang out till monday and take the HD plant tour out there. Every year we ride staright thru to Florida(Melbourne). That is about as far as we go in a straight shot. But once I get to cruisin' I just chill and every trip I always say we will take it EZR and every trip we push ourselves because we can do it. 150 out here is a poker run not a "ride". Alot of those fellas reallly think they did something (LOL) but hey, to each his own.

    Life is NOT fair

    Idontno,
What's fare for me may not be fare for you. Other tham taking Sue for a ride to the usuall hangouts, I use my bikes for everyday transportation, I don't own a car. Last time I took off for a "putt" I put 7,389.2 miles on the Dyna. Longest leg was 725 miles.:biker:  and I'm old beyoun my years, drugs will do that.

When I go out for a mental cleansing putt, the loops are usually 150-200 miles. Then there are the trips...

Oh ya,,, drugs are bad. Of course, I'm not good looking anyway.

Gotta go along with Sleepy on this one. We usually go about a tankful, stop for a smoke (cigarettes killer-b cigarettes) coffee etc... Fill up ,and once we figure out where we are we cruise back. Makes for a nice 4-5 hour trip, definitely gets your head cleared and back on track.

K B, youbetcha thery're bad, especially Platenol and 5FU, If you are going to smoke, Pot is much better for you than tobaco, saved my life. People that use tobaco should be shot on sight, got my cancer from second hand smoke. Just a thought, :fight:

Uummmm, well, I in no way condone the use of illicit drugs. Like a few here, in a previous life, have used more then my fare share. Drugs are bad for you. I know.
Pix, I believe in the hypothesis that we all have the probability of cancer, its our bodies immunities that keep it under control. You live long enough, you will get the dreaded body rot (cancer). Good luck with your cancer.
    JMO…FWIW.

actually, considering the title of this thread, Ritilin might be a good "drug of choice"

Sleeping, SK and I have done a few trips together and we ride a lot alike.
I still get a chuckle out of Sleepy and myself on our full dress Harley's chasing down SK on his sport touring Yamaha in some really tight corners in SE Arizona with Dave from Direct Parts right on our tail. Sleepy is right a tank full of gas is just getting started.

Favorite ride of mine is to ride the 100 miles to the Oregon coast then ride down the coast for another 100 miles or more before heading back home in a different direction now that's a good days ride of around 350 to 450 miles.

If the coast is not the direction then I point the front wheel East and ride
into the beautiful Cascade Mountain range for a full day of some of the worlds most beautiful country. Can't wait for spring. :)
