I just put the stage 1 kit on my 03 heritage SE air cleaner, computer download and python 3 slip-ons which sound awsome. The one thing I noticed is that my fuel milage has gone down the tubes like 10 miles to the gallon is this normal

    same thing

Just did the same thing on my '04 Wide Glide and noticed that there was a significant drop in fuel economy as well. decrease of 10 mpg is about right. I haven't calculated it but seems right. Then again the increased power is quite noticable and there was a vibration at 67 mph to 75 mph that is gone as well. I guess you can't get something for nothing.

Happy with the power and sound though. (Gets better gas mileage than my truck though.)

No something is wrong, you shouldn't see 10 MPG if you didn't change your riding habits.

One thing that occurs from a performance upgrade is twistitis  which the common and frequent hard twisting of the throttle grip  , this of course results in newfound intended acceleration, wide smiles, and of course gasstopitis or lower fuel mileage.

If you're that far off, you've changed the way you ride, higher speeds and harder starts, or you need a tune up. Have friends with stage 1's getting better mileage from the change.

That was an estimate. Not quite that bad but I do tend to ride a bit faster. I haven't done any real calculations yet but the decrease in mileage is noticable. However, on the upside the increase in HP is the most noticable change (well the sound too... :D ) and the loss of vibration I mentioned. You guys are right that the stage one with slip ons is the best bang for the buck.
