Got clearance Thursday from doc for riding again. Knee still hurts but useable. A old friend looked me up after more than ten years and asked to ride together. He only got a bike recently and took the MSF course and has logged 4k on a Honda Shadow (a plagiarized Harley ). We met 730 this morning at 55 degrees! Went east to the northeast end of Lhun Gisland (Orient Point as opposed to Montauk Point which is the southeast end) coffee'd up then i led a scenic ride home. We did just about 150 miles. Weather here is now perfect. Chilly nights and 70's during the day. Man it felt good to ride again. Even if it was with a fake Harley !

Must be some kind of brace out there to assist you with your issue?

Doc says no. Shots of jell lubricants ( KY jelly?) and steroids until no help than I get a bionic knee installed. I tried braces only made it worse.

Thats what you get for trying to make the NFL :)

You're a little young to have bad knees, how did that occur?

Never grew up with a brother, and now I'm glad I didn't LOL. Good to hear you're riding again. I think if you pace yourself, you should be able to make the ride to D.C.

Stop fairly often and sip water to hydrate those creaky joints .

Good to hear Fatboy nothing like getting back n a bike again when you been off it for awhile. When I had my open heart surgery it was four long months so know how you feel. Don't over do it for awhile but enjoy the wind in your face. :)

I reckon I can consider myself blessed for being able to kickstart my shovel. Everything else is falling apart, but I still have pretty good knees LOL. Have you ridden any more?

Youngers don't realize the pressure we olders are under to make sure they grow up cool.

Yep. Lot of pressure to be better examples of solid upstanding individuals and protect the younger ones. More than one fight I was in was caused by my younger siblings.
