First Post or First Unread Post or Last Post

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that even if you have never looked at a thread and you select it, you go to the last thread posted? I know the little deal to the left is go to first unread but many times I'm looking to look at the first thread yet I'm thrown to the last one. Even though I've never ever looked at that thread. Seems like a bug to me. Is it? Or is it me somehow? Or this is how it works so shut up and live with it!

Am I the only one that sees this? Or is it known and I should already know it?

I can't find anything in "Preferences" that says show last thread first as on some sites. I don't understand what is happening here. It's been that way since going to this format but I thought it might get squared away but it hasn't. I'm thinking admin isn't aware of it because they see all threads anyway.

I believe since we went to this format it's been the case.

Well I know it's been this way since going to this format but I really can't believe it's by design. Why have the little button to the left of the thread that say go to first unread post and then just have selecting the thread go to the last post period? Don't make sense. I think there is a setting somewhere that isn't correct.

Where's kenfuzzed? Isn't this his playground?

Is it like where cars have still cigarette lighters but now they are just for charging phones? Technology moved on, "first unread"button stayed.

So if you've never looked at a particular thread, how do you see the very first post in just one step? Did they throw the baby out with the bath water?
