Anything I may Not be considering when looking at one of these bikes. The shop has some they big bore and trick out some. 22k  Others just have the lights and stickers stripped off for about 15k. I know they have a "runflat" rear tire. Gear ratio any different than a stock bike? Any other issues with them.

    $22K for a cop bike???
    $15K for a stripper?

Sounds a bit high, I paid $13 for mine direct from the agency and spent a couple of grand getting it the way I wanted.

If you buy the stripper you'd have to

    1) Change seat for a two up seat, if you can find a take off from someone that bought a mustang or corbin you're golden otherwise $400 to $700 including backrest for OL or BL (Bar ladies)
    2) Rear footpegs or floorboards $100 to $300
    3) Rear tire is for one up only, you'd want one for two up riding $100 or so
    4) Controls, You can get housings for stock HD's at swapmeets and such, cut the cop switches out and put on the stock housings so it won't look cop ($40)
    5) Nacelle (Headlight cover) black, rest of bike white, chrome ones are not cheap $400 I painted mine white to match the cop white then had a pin stripe flame job done at Bike Week $200 plus beer costs while waiting at Boothill
    6) Fog Lamps, yours will come with cop lights unless they swap them out.

Other than that which is the minimum to get up to two up touring mode, the $15K makes sense if you can get all the parts on the cheap.

What are they doing to add $6K to the bikes value?

For $22K buy a new one non cop off the floor.

    Love the info age!

Hey, good information. Thanks for the replies. :)
The 22k bike has the big bore kit, V&H shotgun duals, apes, stainless cables, ect. and the tins have been painted up nicely. One had the forks powder coated back.
