    Hi Gang,

It's been a while as I have been detailing scoots and chasing trout streams this past year. I have quick question. My 04 RK classic has 40K on her and the volt regulator is staring to crap out. I am not getting the 14.5 reading I should be getting on the DOHM when I am at a fast idle. Replacement is in the mail and should be here this week. Futhermore, its not running smooth and it sound like it is sputtering slightly and evenly when I accelerate. Could this be a case of low octane gass issues, bad plugs, or a coil going out? No Diagnotic codes are coming up.

In closing, I welcome your feedback. Be well.

If the plugs are a couple of years old, wouldn't hurt to replace them...I'd wait until you get the new regulator, maybe get your battery load tested while waiting, with a bad regulator it could be discharging the battery enough to cause electronic problems(spark or fuel)...if the regulator is bad, you'll only run as far as the battery will go until it dies, then you're stuck on the side of the road.

Lucifer, thank you for the quick response. I have a back up battery on the bike now just in case. I hope the new regulator comes in this week. Going to get another set of fresh plugs this week. Thank you again.
