Hi. I have instaled the cvp stage 1 kit. The bike takes a long time to warm up but after that it runs great. After riding about 30 min the carb seams to be flooding at idle. I originaly used the 48 pilot jet but changed to a 46 but no difference. The bike has not quit but it sounds like an old quadrajet 4 barrel loading up at idle. Any ideas???:

possibly the float is stuck or
    improperly set float level.

    I'd turn off the fuel
pull the bowl and check float movement
    and height..

Agree, sounds like float level. Is it actually flooding (excess fuel seen in carb throat, smell of gas) or is it being starved? When this occurs try uncapping the gas cap and see if the condition improves. If so your gas cap is not venting properly causing a vacuum to form and slowing the flow of fuel, thus starving the carburetor bowl.

Its not the cap. That is all I have tried so far. If I can I will check the float level and both neddle and float for damage this weekend.

Well, I think I have found the problem...I took the carb off and the float moves freely and was at the higher end of the specs but ok. The needle looked OK too. I double checked how many turns out my ez-just was(thought it was at 3) but it was only 1-1/4 turns out. I set it to 2-1/4 and will try it out tomorrow and I will let you know...
    Thanks

Wow. Rode the bike today and it is like a different bike. Before it would take 10 to 15 min. before I could push the enrichner fully in. Now 1 to 2 miles and it idles fine. One thing that I have noticed before and after is that after the bike is fully warmed up the idle speed increases mabee 100 rpm. I dont have a tack but it definitely is higher. Should I adjust the idle down after it is warmed up to where I want it or will this take me back to using the enrichner more???

I would try to set the idle somewhere between where it is now and the lowest you can live with that still allows for quick warm up.

Just as a side note for you and others who find that idle speed is quite right, I will have a new extended idle knob available later this month. It is made from a single piece of stainless steel and can be reached without using a screw driver. I've also made a new s/s spring for this idle speed adjuster that won't wander.
