Changing oil in forks, 2000 road king. Drained as per shop manual, also going to do fallaway while nachel and hardware off. Trying to refill and fluid airlocks at top nut ( WTH). Manual says small hose and funnel in banjo hole, can I gently punp forks to fill? Trying to accurately measure fluid can be a challenge to not spill or wear.

There is a way to pump oil into the forks from the drain hole in the bottom of the lower legs without disassembling the front end. Forget where I saw it, though.

I pumped my girls to get oil down. BTW factory manual gives dry fork oil qty. I measured what came out and added same. Matched what Harley mechanic told me. I think 2 less than manual.

had a thought, hand vac pump at top of fork , small hose with small pointed tip from vac pump and suck it in the drain holes from the marked HD container. pull hose from container, maintain a little vac pull hose insert drain plug.

The trick is to add oil in small amounts and work the forks up and down, then add a little more and pump 'em until you've added the proper amount. Hint go a little light on amount you add, to account for oil that is clinging to inards. There is no need for vacuum pumps or special tools..

Also put more thought into what joshbob said. If a person did not want to pull all the hardware off to get to the top of the forks they could pull schrader core from stem in rear, drain, and refill through drain hole by pulling a vac stem in rear

OK , HRK in rear air stem as in where you add air to the front forks when we get old and fat as we all will most likely end up and the skinny chic is in the back. Yeah vacuhm, vackum, vackhum, vakum, vakhum, OH that's right vacuum that word is a somm beach.LOL at my expense.
