Got some new fork seals, but was wondering what the size spec of them is.
Are they a metric size of imperial?

I have put digital callipers across the fork legs, but cant figure a nice number in either metric or imperial.

I have got the new HD seals NOK BR2722E 39-60.

Cant seem to find any refs on Google for these seals.

Reason I am asking, I have used some seals in the past:
Motohaus Powersports Limited Leak Proof Fork Seals

    and found them very good.
The site only shows metric seals but they do say they have other sizes...but no hint to wether they supply imperial or not...I have sent them an e-mail so will have to wait and see.

    Edit:
Have just found various other sites selling the same brand of seals for old British bikes, so I think I can assume that they do make imperial seals

38 mm on the sporty and 44 mm on the big V-twins is what I got from the book.
So the inter specs should be 38mm for the sporty. Let us know what you come up with.

Metric...oh..really surprised...did not thing an all American product would have any metric on it...but thinking about it...all those bloody Torx fitting are going to be metric too.

Well then , the numbers make sense the seal is marked 39-60 so seal dimensions 39mm ID 60 MM OD.

If I had just engaged brain and thought metric then it would have told me itself

    Thanks

yep there are some metric parts on HD's have been for years

Showa forks are some of the best and that's what you find on all HD's

FYI the battery bolts are 10MM and the brake caliper bolts are Metric as well as they should be, they are on Showa forks.

Carb as well, that seems to be metric.

Put the vernier across the legs just now, 38.85mm so yep 39 seems to be it. Tried many points around the leg and it seems constant at that figure. So maybe my verniers are out or the leg IS a fraction under
