I have a 96 FLSTC and bought a set of chrome fork tubes, (aftermarket), and I have a loud clunk from the front end when I go over speed bumps. I have had the neck bearings replaced, new screeming eagle fork oil added to the correct level, (did it myself to make sure). I'm wondering if these forks might be to short which causes them to bottom out. I am in Korea, and there is only one HD dealer here that I really don't trust. Any help will be appreciated.

scott did you jus change tubes for the newer chrome? if so did you double check the length on the new tubes & your old set to make sure there the same ? & if by chance you got the lowering set they need a spacer

Cowboy, I have a feeling you are correct. I didn't measure the new set, but I can measure them to make sure they are 22 7/8" in length. The spacer you mentioned, is it installed in the fork tube on top of the spring?
    Thnx for your help!
