two things.....check the bearing tightness....very simple test ooutllined in the service manual.....it is called the fall away test......when you are leaning the wobble is probably caused by frame/swingarm flex. baggers arnt known for there nimbleness.....there is a product on the market to help with this problem. also, the batwing doesnt help, especially if there is a cross wind....

it is the pads that are squeeking.....change them out for a set of lyndall brake pads, the squeek and dust will go away...........

Clearly you've ridden at high speed and from what you say, have the ability and the cajones to ride at those speeds. However, that doesn't mean the bike you have is going to perform well at those higher speeds.

Part of the problem is you're not riding a crotch rocket racing style bike at 160 on a closed course designed for high speed turns and straights.

The Ultra is a long distance cruiser, and yes it can run at higher speeds but the design limits speed in certain situations..

The front forks on the FLH series are behind the neck and this has less rake which allows better lower speed control and turning in parking lots and tight situations but it's not best for high speed operations as a bike with more rake.

There also is the fact that the motor and trans now bolted together act as one unit on the FL's basically oscillating inside a rubber mounting system. Combine this with the fact that the rear swingarm is mounted to the trans and you have the potential for some interesting riding in higher speed turns.

There are some things you can do to help the situation some you'll like some you won't and I'm not giving you crap by saying them its JMO

Ideas you probably won't but you'll live longer

1) Slow down in turns
2) Sell the Ultra and get a Beemer or Wing or FJR1300 that is designed for high speed touring and corners

Ideas to help but will never make it a FJR1300 Sport Touring Bike

1) Have a very very good shop check out frame alignment this means the alignment of the motor and trans and swingarm inside the frame and has nothing to do with the bike being wrecked or not. You have a Rubber front mount and front adjustment stabilizer, top stabilizer adj, rear rubber mounts on trans and swingarm fall away test, etc
2) Check tires for wear and inflation and alignment
3) Aftermarket helpers are the Ride Str-8 and there are several others that
bolt to the bottom of the trans around the oil pan and mount it up to the frame to reduce the rear end wiggle that you get from the basic design of the bike.


JMO get the last 3 done and slow down a bit in turns or sell the Ultra and get a bike designed for the riding style you like.
