Rode to work this AM - 24 degrees. Supposed to be up to 40 by the time I leave this afternoon. Folks wondered if I got cold. I said nope, you dress for the occassion. Heck I was probably warmer than most folks walking through the parking lot. Tell ya what, the ride to and from work is what makes work tolerable anymore. When I can't ride, I just as soon not show up - anywhere. I could tell the starter had to put a little extra "grunt" into turning the 103 this morning but she hit - on the first turn.:D:D:D

How do you like the factory 103 as compared to the 96 engine.

The lowest temp I commuted in to the base was 9 degrees. I have to admit I'm not gonna ride in 9 degrees anymore, except for maybe the local Toy Run (25MPH wind chill ain't too much). The tiniest bits of skin exposed to the wind all got frostbite during the 15 minute commute, and my bike didn't care for it either. But I know what you mean, riding to and from work is the best way to leave work at work.

I guess I have never thought it would be fun to ride in that cold of weather. Here in Minnesota it gets below zero. How does the oil react to weather like that anyways? It would take my bike forever to warm up in order for me to feel comfortable riding it in weather like that.

BTW, I am jealous that you are able to out riding this time of year!!:cussing:

We get to ride to work pretty much year around. Temps stay in the 40's a lot the only issue here is putting up with the constant rain.

I have been thinking about moving to a place where I can ride year round, but I am not sure what the wife would say. :(

It would be far more embarrassing if she wanted you to move, but still wanted to snuggle in the snow with someone.......else.:roflmao:

The 103 is a GREAT improvement over the 96 especially when riding two up. Had the 96 on the "09 Heritage. This one is also much better in the mountains and we got a bunch of 'em too.:D

Do you think that the 103's that came stock are better than a 96 kicked up to a 103? I rode an 010 Street Glide that was a 96 and it had been put to a 103 and I was pretty disappointed in it. What do you think?
