While installing my rubber fuel line, I noticed that it is touching both cylinders as it passes thru to the carb. Will this be an issue when the jugs heat up? Should I switch to a stainless braided hose instead, or . . . ?

stainless or braided will absorb heat - vapor lock

I have a hose going through to my SNS on my 124 and it's fine...

Be sure it's gas hose that stuff is better.

Or if you have a CV you can run over the intake
    which should help...

Thanks HRK. I was concerned that the hose might melt. I do have the kind of rubber hose that is designated for gas only. The hose touches the front cylinder on the petcock side and touches the rear one on the carb side. I'm still hooked up to my butterfly Kiehin. I want to see how its going to work before switching to the CV.

you could look for some kind of protective sheathing
to slide over it if you feel it's going to damage the hose
I've been fine on mine so far and it gets plenty hot..

I have a fuel line that is running from the petcock behind the rear jug that sits on top of my intake. My inline filter is there as well and I haven't had any issues. The line does rub the rear jug too.

Now there's a fire going someplace to happen. Had a old Knucklehead one time that did that to me while ridin. Ever see a guy on his hands and knees huffin' and puffin' in the middle of the street. The OL still rags me about it and this happened 35 years ago.
BTY - I did blow it out and rode it home with a bandaid on the leaking hose - some of the dumb things we do as kids.:D

i will use another hose, over the fuel line for protection......i do the same for oil lines. either slip the hose before installation, or split it and tie wrap it on.....

yep that's all I do , & if the bigger hose is to loose small zip ties work well to hold it in place

You guys are a mess! I went to my local indie and he says he's going to look around for a piece of "corrugated plastic" to put over it. Seems somebody makes some kind of a plastic sheath to fit over the line to keep it from rubbing the cylinders. Never heard of it before.
