I have a 2001 Dyna FXDP, it will only run with full choke. you can ride it all day long but as soon as you lose a little choke it starts spuddering. I just got the bike and was told the Carb was just rebuilt, so im sure thats where my issue lies. any help would be great. thanx

I'd start by looking for intake leaks, starting at the seal where the carb mounts to the manifold, then the seals where the manifold is bolted to the heads...

choke means it wants more fuel

    Blocked fuel passages,
    crimped fuel line
    bad vac line to petcock
    clogged jets, float stuck
    diaphragm fugged up.
    manifold not seated in seal
    seal not good on manifold.

Since the carb was just rebuilt, focus there. Check the simple stuff first, like the vacuum line from your fuel tank petcock to the carb, like was mentioned before. Do you know you're way around the carb? If not, you can check out videos online - many helpful ones, just search for harley carburetor problems. ..lots of pics and videos

Many thanks to all. I ll check all of these this weekend and post results. If anyone's got a PDF manual I'd love to have it. I have one for the old iron heads it's coves all the 60's and some 70's I believe. Once again thank you all.
