I'm having trouble figuring this out. In theory, I should just rejet the cv to compensate for the enricher, but I'm already at 48/185 on a shovel out of an 81 fxrs. I've checked and rechecked for leaks doing both propane and starting fluid, which showed nothing. All passages are clean, clear, and smooth. I'm hesitant to go any higher in jet size, but I'm guessing an old shovel has a history of running larger jets. Plugs are obviously fouled due to the choke, so there's no way of telling there. I rejetted from a 42/180 combo, and it made a slight improvement, but it'll still occasionally pop through the carb on a cold kick. I live on the outer banks of nc, and the humidity is pretty gnarly, so i'm not sure if that may have something to do with it.

Did you adjust the air/fuel mixture? May also want to check the float level. Really humid out here also, but after rebuild runs fine.

I've messed with the mixture needle, but it hasn't proven to be very helpful. Minor rpm changes, but nothing to help keep the idle going. I've only checked the float level, but maybe that's where I should go next, as far as adjusting it, and seeing if it affects it much. Thanks for the idea though.

You want to make sure your float level is correct before you do anything!! You will never get your mixtures correct if your float level is not correct!!
