Rode to Tattoo's shop as he was leaving for Rocky mount, so we saddled up - me on my shovel and him on one of the newer 100ci Indians. Owner told him to ride it and check some things out.
We rode maybe 40 miles to pick up a special order bearing for his hopped up shovel. Discovered some great new roads along the way and the weather couldn't have been more perfect - upper 80s and partly cloudy with hardly no wind. I rode an additional 30 miles solo after that just burnin' gas 'cause it was one of those days.:D

Yeah, the sickle is runnin' pretty good. This morning we had some showers, so have been out in the shop checking nuts 'n' bolts. Tattoo had a guy's Twinkie engine on the stand. The owner never checked his motor mount bolts and two came loose and busted the motor case up pretty bad.

Been thinking of taking a cruise to the beach area soon, maybe next week. Lots of rubbernecking tourists over there this time of year. But there are the Outer Banks, Kill Devil Hills, and the Wright Brother's museum to see, and all kinds of great seafood restaurants all up and down the coast I'm told.

Good advice FLHT, and it'll be cooler riding, too, if I go in September. Fall here is great for riding, about what you have right now in Oregon.

That's way down on the border - coupla hundred miles from here and too much for a one day ride for me. There's some nice places east of here, like Edenton and the north section of the Outer Banks. The locals who live there still speak a form of early English like the original settlers.

    Croppies,

Just doesn't look like it would put up quite the fight that a steelehead does.

then again in TX you don't have to get an environmental boot permit to
wade into the water where you might disturb the mud dwelling creek lizard
or move a pebble that has sat there for 100,000,000,000 years//
