i have a 1993 flhtc with a cv carburetor...when i turn on the gas with the petcock, gas leaks out the front of the carb through the hole in the upper left of the carb...does anyone know what causes this?

The way I see it, knowing how carbs work, I would say you have a float seat problem. Maybe a peice of dirt in the seat. My bike is injected, and once you have fuel injection you will never go back to carbs. I would remove float bowl, clean the float seat and needle, and try again. Good luck.

yes, the float has a bit of trash in it. very easy cure. you may want to check the filter also. the cv carb is a great carb. it is inexpensive to maintain, actually pretty trouble free. set it and forget it. not to worry about fuel injection.....not all it is cracked up to be.........jmo...
