I have taken the metal (I think, may be hard plastic) Harley Davidson sick-on decals off my gas tank to get it painted. I used dental floss and a platic putty knife to remove the decals. They appear to be metal or hard plastic and say Harley Davidson and on the back they have the two sided sticky tape. The tape surface is in like new condition since I took my time in removing them. My question is can I just stick back on or do I need to heat them up with a hair dryer to re-activate the sticky tape. Any ideas, I will only have one chance to do this right, since I won't be able to pull them back off and try again with out destroying the new paint. Thanks

here is my attack on these emblems.....after the paint has cured.....about 90 days or better, i warm the surface of the tank, either letting it sit in the sun or using a hairdryer for a few minutes....i also warm, not hot but warm the emblem. then hold the emblem in place with masking tape or with my hand if i dont have a beer in it!!!!!!!!!! lol:) have fun, let us know how it works for you.............if by chance it doesnt work, and not all will stick, use a small amount of 2 part epoxy.....key word is small.......a little of that goes a long way on a tank and emblem!!!!
