    6th 2.790

    2011 Gearing

    Primary Engine 34 teeth

On the 07 and 08 you couldn't git the bike in 6th gear before 65mph or it would act like it was gonna lug the motor.

With the 2011 and the new gearing, you don't have this problem.
The bike pulls better and you can git 6th gear to pull sooner.
Seems to make the bike run smoother.

Had somebody say they changed their transmission pulley out to a 30 tooth on their 08 and it made a big difference in the way it pulled.

makes a big difference on the road
in every gear you pull harder.

My stock 09 was pulling a buddies stage 1 Ultra 2007
on roll ons and up ramps, it was pulling away too at higher speeds...

There is a noticeable difference between the 08 and 09 and above. The 08 and below 6 speed would really lug until you were at 70. I think HD was listening to riders that complained. The newer gearing is way better and even at 55 I can drop it into 6th gear and still power on. Couldn't do that with the 07 or 08.

Here is what somebody else posted on the gearing.

The newer bike's final ratio is 6.25% lower. That's significant. So if the new bike had the old bike's speedo put in it it'd be off by 6 1/4% or 6 mph at 100 mph or about 4.4 mph at 70 mph.

I do a lot of riding at 70 and above

    Give me a 6 speed anyday. I've had 4 bikes with a 6 speed.
    Really like them
Its just on the new bikes , HD really got the gearing right,

Looks like they have been listening to the customers

I was going to sayyyy..... I was really disappointed in the gearing of the 010. I am sure that the 6th is nice, but one of the things that I did not like about is that I thought it was just too much shifting.

It's in yer head, you never know the difference. Its about engine rpm and how smooth the engine runs. The 6 speed in the 10's was the 1st year for the 1 and 5th gears to be the same cut as the rest.
If you rode a 6 speed very long you would understand what I'm talkin about.
    6 speeds rocks.
6th gear is for the higher speeds and the hiway. It drops the Rpms.

Ricky came over and we had to take the Condor Pitstop trailer wheel chock out of my trailer and he has to use it to go down by Hobby airport to git her Spyder out of the shop for warranty work.

Its rainin. He didn't want to ride that far comin back in the rain.
I don't want to ride in the rain with the chill and catch a cold.
    Been coughin a lot.:gah:
