Generator gear

    for those of us who still have the gen. when it comes time to shim the cams,
    you can use the teflon washers that come with auto oil pan drain plugs to use on the gen idler gear.

    I use the steel shims,on my 75,in fact my manual calls for steel shims ,you can get them in thicknesses of .005 and .007.The end play for my bike is....001-.005.....I think yours would be the same....

    If your talking about the intermediate gear,my book says a fiber washer,must not be too critical then...

    re-read the post and meant to say generator drive gear. steel for the cams.

    The drive gear for the generator is called the intermediate gear,the book says it has a fiber washer.....
