Got home from work about an hour and a half ago and according to accuweather it was 21F. I just picked up gerbing pants last Wednesday and have had the gloves. I wear jeans then the Gerbings, on top a t-shirt, sweat shirt and a Nitro jacket (First Gear Kilimanjaro knock off). Also wore my full face for the first time in 3 years. Did'nt like the confined feeling but glad I had it on. The only thing that gets cold are my feet. Unlined Rocky's and 1 pair of socks. The ride is 27 miles through 2 lane roads. Had to watch out for ice patches in a couple of areas because of the light dusting we got yesterday. I also have the dual control thermostat, gloves on high; pants at 50%. By the way I live on the Front Range outside of Colorado Springs.

Geez..I know how the weather is near there. The most snow I've ever ridden in was in June two years ago heading back to Cripple Creek from The Springs and had to go through 6" of snow..riding in the cage's tracks in front of me. I remember putting both feet out on the ground like pontoons to slide through an intersection getting back to the hotel. Keeping a 700+lb bike up was my main concern. I do like 150 series tires though.

So, wide tire = good? I've only had to ride in snow twice, once back to College Station after the 4" snow we got in '73, once following a snow plow out of Alpine, Arizona down to Clifton after 6". That was hairy!

SV has a 160 on the back, under 400 lbs. I don't think it'd beat a snow mobile, though. :D

Goose that was one of the roads we rode on the Bike Talk Ride this year with CD. Nice road for a bike (as long as its not snowing). :D
