I have installed a set of S.E. pipes a new air intake and now I need to replace the jets. How in the heck do you get them out?? I tried allen wrenchs and a small screw driver and even my wifes tweezers. Is there a tool I need to buy or am I going to have to take the carb off and apart. any help out there???

Jets are made out of brass and the carb is aluminum two very soft metals. A slip with a screwdriver can make your carb useless so I would take it off and do it right. Jet screwdrivers prevent damaging the jets because they fit into the slots correctly. When you are loosening the jets, a firm push down and slow steady twist will usually prevent the dreaded rounding off of the slot. When installing, do not over torque! Snug is good. Don't forget the mainj et holder also holds the needle jet and if it comes out it must go back in the same way or it will never run right.

If you haven't even taken the carb off the bike, have you bothered to drill out the aluminum slug covering the pilot jet?...That is hard enough to do off the bike without ruining the adjustment screw.. I've had mechanics tell me they don't bother worrying about it and keep a healthy supply of pilot jet set screws around to replace the ones they ruin.

If you do ruin it get one of the extended knurled adjustment knobs CD sells here...it makes it much easier to adjust your pilot jet with just a turn of your fingers.
