    Greetings all,

Just a short story about a ride with my wife and I. My wife is not as big into bikes as I am, but is learning. We took a few days and toured around the upper peninsula of Michigan. Some beautiful country up there, in summer.

We had a great time, I tried to keep it short, not too many hours on the bike at one shot, and we had a good trip. We caught a little rain the last day heading home, but it was light, and short. I did not have too many set plans, just go.

Riding was good, except the last try. Heading home, in Marinette county WI, saw a sign for 12 foot falls county park. Thinking it would be a good time to stretch, maybe get a few pics, headed toward it. It started as asphalt country road, became gravel, then became sand! I almost lost it three times in the sand. I never made it, after the third almost spill, I turned around.

All in all a good time. First pic in front of some lake called Superior, wow, what an ego! Second pic, we purchased a new helmet from a Harley dealership along the way, my wife liked it so much, she did not even take it off on short stops! Third pic, Pictured rocks, Lake Superior.

I agree with Cowboy, but it isn't that easy for me to just up and go. I hear that the UP of Michigan is really nice. Maybe next fall the wife and I will take a ride up there.

Those pictures of Superior are really awesome!!!

We are thinking of returning in the fall, when the leaves are changing. Would be cool. Unfortunately, I have a job coming up in China, so not sure I will be back in time.

OL and I used to do spontaneous trips no plans just go and turn where we never turned before. Plenty of challenges made the most memorable trips. We still laugh at the photos where she is wearing my jeans over her jeans, my spare jacket over her leather, my spare sweatshirt over her sweater, sweatshirt and sweatshirt! Brrr, it was cold in the mountains that morning. We miss those days (she can't ride anymore).
