Got a leak

    :gah: hey guys just put the throwout bearing in 79 shovel, NOW I have tranny fluid leaking. Looks like it is coming from the rear chain sprocket at the back of primary. did I mess up when putting the throwout bearing in ?:witsend:

    uh oh, what seals ? are they in the kick start side?are they in the manuel? I guess I did'nt notice any when I took the bearing out. the shop manuel did'nt show a good break down. I'll have to look again .Thanks chucktx :banghead:

    they are in there, keeps the trans fluid from seeping around the shaft....you will see them. the parts manual would be the second best tool in the box.....it gives breakdowns and how they go together. i use mine all the time......let us know!!!!!

    I would bet you need new seals,
    Parts guy should have asked you when you got the bearing....

    Agree with Chuck the SM is great but the PM shows an exploded diagram of the assembly and all the pn's for each bit. So you'll see the stuff you need...

    Bummer been there done that.

    While you are in there replace EVERY seal and gasket, no reason to do it again...
