When I took the bike into the dealer today the wife was in as always checking out the sales racks. They had one section with 75% off on it. A Harley jacket that was recently shown in the new Partz section in Thunder Press that sells for 159.00 was 47.00. Cool jacket and in my size, XL. They also had what was a really good buy a Harley heated pants in my size 38X32 big enough to fit over my jeans. They had a list price on them of 300.00 and the sale price was 75.00. Nothing missing either. So now I got me a very nice black plaid lined jacket and a pair of heated pants that will plug into my heated jacket liner. And the best part was the wife bought em for me:D how cool is that.

    Item 2 = win,
And a third win as well.
How cool? Very cool (and hopefully warm).

That is way cool!! Hot Rider went to the dealership over the weekend because our dealership had its 2010 clearance sale as well. She got a pair of HD chaps for her for $130. She ended up buying me another garage shirt and a another tee. Hot Rider would live there if I would let her.

Good score on the heated pants and the coat! sounds like you are become accessorized everyday? :wtf::roflmao:

I just remember a long conversation about wearing the HD gear and all of that stuff. I think it was in that thread that I posted about being a R.U.B. I remember that you were not so much for wearing HD stuff!!:roflmao:

Hot Rider is picky about her jewelry! Has to be gold and or real diamonds. Costs me a fortune!:rant:

I don't wear that much Harley stuff, my heated liner is a Gerbing and when I saw 75.00 for the heated pants was to good to pass up. By the way Gerbling makes the Harley heated cloths and gloves. My chaps are made by some leather company not HD, boots are Corbin or Red Wing and don't remember who made my leather coat. Helmet is who ever, Scorpion etc. Gloves bought at another leather shop. If you buy all Harley your usually spending to much extra.

JohnyBiker, I was not around when you posted that thread. What is a R.U.B.?

My leather jacket is 35 years old and nicely broken-in, but does have a big Harley patch on back; boots are tall bikers' from River Road; gloves are Olympia cold weather; and heated liners are Tour Master. Also a full-face helmet from HCI for winter, and a carbon fiber half-helmet for summer.

Its got to do with points, and like every july you go back to like 9 points or so.

I moved up a level or two.

Didn't know if you knew they changed the point system around.
Like every july they drop you back to the bottom on points.
And you have to spend money to go from the bottom level back up as you git points.
The more stuff you buy or the more of their events you go on the more points you build up and after so many points you git more off.
And I posted i so anybody that was wondering about it could click on the MVP and look at it too....

I keep forgittin how the MVP works.......

Dealer here dumped the points program
had a 10% OTC discount for you
if you bought a bike, changed it to points
and gave people cards, with a special reader.

    Everyone complained about it.

    I just stopped buying there
I don't want points I want cash discounts now.

Have to cross a toll bridge at $5 round trip to get
there, paying to get points so you get to give the
dealer more money up front and to hold your
discount until you give them enough money

    Skip it and call

    Chicago HD
    Lakeshore HD
    Zannotti HD
    Tri-County HD - Jenni

20% off everyday, no tax and shipping is cheap no handling fees.

    Always take the cash discount...

I can drive 30 miles south and get a set 20% off or drive 12 miles north to Vancouver to the Columbia Harley dealer and get a straight 10% off for being a HOG member. Plus no toll bridges :D

That is good but one thing to watch is price of the part
every catalog has a warning that actual prices are set
by the dealer, I've gone into some and found them 10 to 20% over
    listed book price....

You can check with the three I listed and get
a better discount at one than the other on
    some parts....

We do get cash discounts right away, then we get money back at the end of the season or "what they call a season." :D

We always check the Harley price in the Harley catalog before we buy it. The shop down south if its not a Harley item we have found they really mark it up first then give you 20% off. Gotta watch some of these guys. Our HD dealer Latus motors is pretty straight forward and honest, not any trickery that I have found there but just a good honest dealership.

You can see the prices in the P&A catalog, but how do you know what the legit price is on other parts that they don't show you?
