Thanks for sharing. I had no idea the Coast Guard played such a part in the Pacific theater, involved in the actual landings. Quite an eye opener.

That's a big reason why I don't buy new Japanese stuff if I can help it. Bad enough buying Chinese junk.

Well my wife had a 07 sonata with 100,000 warranty. 4 cylinder. I inherited it when my explorer got crushed by 3 oak trees. It's got 127,000+ miles on it. Never was in the shop. Only brakes, tires, oil, oil filter, air filter and wipers. It's a damn good car. Fast too and gets 35 mpg on hwy. Buddies that work in body shops hate the Korean cars because the panels fit so tight and even. (ie: trunk lid, doors and hood). Makes them work extra hard to align after a crash.

Korean Cars are very very good,

AND several of them are made right here in the good ol non union south
in a plant outside of Hot'lanta. It's a bigg fuggin plant, they built it right
in a depressed area where the textile people ran when china hit.

the steel is stamped here, the parts assembled and made, there are hundreds
of USA plants with USA employees making Kia and Hyundai's in GA.

I'd bet there's more USA in one of them than any Fiat Dodge....

And did I mention, not one union!

    mmmm

Majority of the $$ goes to Korea,no thanks. KIA and Hyundai no way near long term reliability of domestic. Just as soon they do like Honda did and take factory production back to Korea.

I had. Hyundai Tucson and it was good to about 40,000 miles then it started going downhill fast. And the KIA....I don't imagine it's any better.

They have improved significantly in the past years, the early Hyundai and Kia cars sucked, POS, would fall apart easily, then they went to the 10 year warranty, and improved the cars.

I'm not a rice guy at all, Ford only, we have 3 fords now, but at some point you find yourself wanting things, such as a diesel 1/2 ton and now only fiat has one, Nissan is building a brand new Titan in the USA using a USA made Cummins engine.

    Ford is behind, no diesels.

Fords Diesels have been known to big truck guys to suck. They have been very noisy and break down a lot. Know several guys who have them and all have wished they would have bought the Dodge.
