That's not an LCP but a S&W M&P Shield. Have one in 9mm and its a great small carry single stack gun. 40 cal is probably my favorite cal. And most of my pistols are in 40. That price is the everyday price on em here. Fatboy you really need to get out of New York so you can become a free man again.

The M&P Shield is a very nice semi auto pistol, has a great trigger and they are very accurate .
I'm hoping that Springfield comes out with their XDS in 40 Cal.

I think the shield has the safety, don't care for that CA forced on us control

The new Glock 42 looks great, have to get one in my hands, and the word is a single stack 9 and 40 will be coming soon...

I like the safety because when I stick it in my pocket I know it won't go off when I put my hand in the pocket to pull it out, plus that safety is very small and can be easily flipped off. You don't even know its there. Best thing about the Shield is its a fantastic shooter and fits my hand perfectly.

That's why I won't buy a Glock,no safety and to many cops shoot themselves with them to. Accidentally of course :D

GLocks have safeties built in, there is one on the trigger,
unless you have a finger on it the gun will not fire, it also has
a firing pin block so it won't fire when dropped as do all striker fired
pistols, and you can order the ILS system, it's just with three safety features already incorporated into the gun, it's not required.

The reason you see more LEOs with ND's on Glocks is more LEOS carry Glocks than any other brand.

I'm not a glockophile, prefer sigs, but there is nothing inherently unsafe about carry with a Glock.

Preference is the difference, if you prefer the safety switch that's cool, my P938 has it because it's SAO and must be carried in Condition 1 (cocked and locked) but a lot of folks don't like that either...

    Safety[edit]
Glock pistols are designed with three independent safety mechanisms to prevent accidental discharge. The system, designated "Safe Action" by Glock, consists of an external integrated trigger safety[41] and two automatic internal safeties: a firing pin safety[42] and a drop safety.[43] The external safety is a small inner lever contained in the trigger. Pressing the lever activates the trigger bar and sheet metal connector. The firing pin safety is a solid hardened steel pin that, in the secured state, blocks the firing pin channel (disabling the firing pin in its longitudinal axis). It is pushed upward to release the firing pin for firing only when the trigger is actuated and the safety is pushed up through the backward movement of the trigger bar. The drop safety guides the trigger bar in a ramp that is released only when direct rearward pressure is applied to the trigger. The three safety mechanisms are automatically disengaged one after the other when the trigger is squeezed, and are automatically reactivated when the trigger is released.[17][44] This passive safety system omits the manipulation of traditional on-off levers, hammers or other external safeties as found in many other handgun designs.

In 2003, Glock announced the Internal Locking System (ILS) safety feature. The ILS is a manually activated lock that is located in the back of the pistol's grip. It is cylindrical in design and, according to Glock, each key is unique. When activated, the lock causes a tab to protrude from the rear of the grip giving both a visual and tactile indication as to whether the lock is engaged or not. When activated, the ILS renders the Glock unfireable as well as making it impossible to disassemble. When disengaged, the ILS adds no further safety mechanisms to the Glock pistol. The ILS is available as an option on most Glock pistols. Glock pistols cannot be retrofitted to accommodate the ILS. The lock must be factory built in Austria and shipped as a special order.

Oregon State Cops carry the M&P pistol and say they like em better than Glock. My biggest complaint with the Glock is the way they feel in my hand. Just to square and bulky. Some say like a 2x4 in the hand. My Shield has a very nice feel to it. As for the new Glock 380 it's actually in my opinion after handling it I think its just to big for a 380. It does not feel horrible in the hand but for that size I would want it in min. 9mm.

I almost bought one of the 44 mag lightweights with scandium frame, sucker weighed nothing, it was used and a great price but I resisted went back later that week and it was gone...

Heavy loads don't bother me, I prefer to shoot 10mm, 357 and 44 Mag or 357Sig..

You want to know how soft a 9 shoots, grab a mag of 10mm and fire them off then a 9mm, LOL

M&P are good, had one sold it didn't like the mushy trigger
glocks are a different angle, but you get used to them, and they
have a good low bore axis which is good for keeping the gun
    on target, less flip.
