    well, not so happy for a lot of folk, but a time for rememberance and honoring of the fallen that helped to keep this country free....so we may celebrate our freedoms as we choose.....and that is a good thing!!

    Well said Chuck, not really a happy day,except that in being happy we live in a free country provided to us all by the vets that didn't come home.
    My wife and I attended a service at a local cemetary this morning here in Bellingham. It was one of many held in the area the last few days.I was glad to see it was well attended,and not just by WW11 vets,though they were the largest group by far.
    I'm ashamed to say it was my first,but not the last. I am a vet, but for some reason just never went.Think I'll talk to the local VFW, maybe join up.I was one of the lucky ones, I came home. Let's not forget those who didn't!
