Thank God the midnight hour is past! More guns goin' off than firecrackers; you can tell by the sound. Willow hid under the bed with just the tip of her tail stickin' out.

Happy New Year! It's +5 degrees with a couple inches of fresh snow on the ground, so I probably won't be going for my first ride of 2011 today. I can sit in the heated garage & talk to my bike though!

    Happy New Year,
It's -10 with 3 inches of snow, the brass nut run has been postponed. Some us are still getting together later for Pizza. Today is also the wife's birthday, easy to remember.

Happy New Year to everyone here at Bike Talk - one of the friendliest places to hang out!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went for a ride yesterday since it was up around 56 and boy was that nice. Sort of rainy today though but one of the HOG chapter members told me yesterday that so long as it wasn't raining too hard or too cold he would ride today even if it was just around the block. Supposed to get up around 60 so I reckon he'll get to ride. May go out and put some new "Santa" chrome on the bike after while. Be safe this year everyone!:):):):)

Happy New Year! Hope 2011 is a great year for everyone.

Breezy, blue skies, and around 45 degrees this morning but warming to the mid 50's. Get some ride time in before the rains return tomorrow.

Well the new year brought in a partly sunny cold 26 degree morning, :) just right for the Polar Bear ride. Left here at 7:30 meant up with my friend Vern for breakfast. Went into the Polar Meet up location 28 F, with some ice on the roads. Wind was blowing 20 MPH out of the east and the wind chill factor was down around 21 F. Group of us rode on to the west and wound up at a truck stop restaurant on I-5 at Aurora. Had a great lunch buffet then rode home. Heated gear was really great and was very important today. Heated grips saved the hands, just got to figure out how to make the feet warm. Winter riding sucks but better than no riding at all.

Pic is most of us at Lunch

Went for a ride about one hour, need to get better cloves. I don't think we got above 45 here today and they are saying snow showers the next two days. If felt good to get out even if it was cold. Only saw three other bikes on the road.

One of the ladies in our chapter told me today that you need to wear nylons keeps your toes warm  Told her I would rather be cold. Heated socks sound good.

I heard once you should always wear clean underwear and no nylons just in case you get in a accident.

Don't know if clean underwear would help but I think no nylons would be a really good idea. :roflmao:
