    Howdy,
Have a '08 Harley Heritage Softail w/ 96 engine - was wondering what ignition coil and plug wire performance upgrades people recommend? Any input on putting an Accel single-fire coil and Ultima plug wires on? Right combination? Any gains?
    Thanks - Dmac

No real performance gains...stock harley coil is single fire, plug wires have to be in the same resistance range as stock or you can throw a code because of the ion sensing device in the ignition circuit.
If the stock set up is working fine....stay stock.[IMG][/IMG]

Remember too that the newer HD ECM is sensing the plugs firing
I have head of people changing plug wires and the bike runs like
crap because it's not compatable so the ECM can't work
    properly

Be sure whatever you do it's in sync with HD's ECM

Coil and plug wires are just things you
should change when you got HiPerf with everything else
together it makes a good package

JMO if it's all you do what you'll have
is a lighter wallet and no improvement.

Change the air filter to Kuryakuyns new Street Sleeper, i've installed
3 so far, including my stage 1 Road Glide 2009, and they make a big difference, the filter can support up to 130 hp and it's
cleanable. The HD stuff is no longer K&N style.

Call my buddy Phil at California Phils for a good deal at
    California Phil's Concordia, KS (785) 243-9991

ALso change out the exhaust, there are a ton of aftermarket
slip ons, but Khrome Werks are hard to beat for the low price
and good quality with good baffles.

Stage 1 is best bang for the buck.

Because you have EFI you will need to get it tuned for more fuel

    so either

    1) HD stage 1 download (one time one use, not my favorite)
    2) TTS Mastertune, full tuning sofware, downloadable maps, able to
modify maps, tune, change settings and have dyno tuned,
    3) Powecommander V, same as TTS only it comes with it's own
bolt on hardware, it too has maps, and tuneability..
