I have a 92 Ultra that I need some info concerning witch detection to go first of all this is what I'v done to the engine
    Screamin eagle heads
    high lift roller rockers .675
    30 over cyenders KB pistons
    510 S&S cam
    S&S super e carb
    tech ii ignition
    true duels
    Vance & Hines mufflers
    Andrews adjustable push rods

The last ride I went on I lost all my oil through the crank vent and it puked it all over my rear tire and brakes , I lost the suction side of the pump so i need a new oil pump that's the least of my worries . There is aluminum shavings in the oil so I figure I need to rebuild it or replace the engine , What are the thoughts on the Ultima 107 engines and the longevity of life for them

I would stay away from a remanufactured chinese motor. There's prolly a good reason it had to be "reman'd". JMO.
I've heard lots of bad things about them.
Go with S&S and you won't regret it.

Are you sure it's aluminum shavings, did you put a magnet to them?
You may just need an oil pump. It the pump blows it will most likely leave metal shavings behind in the oil.
I would drain the oil, add new filter and new oil pump. Check the compression and oil pressure and then decide if a rebuild is required. Rebuild your motor if you have to. You have a lot of good parts in it.

yes I did use a magnet and they didn't stick on it , the oil is full of shavings I bought a new pump but got to thinking that what ever is coming apart in the motor needs to be addressed and rebuilding it would cost as much as buying a reman from Ultima . I would not use the old cylinders I think that 30 over is just to much for dependability , I have 44,000 on the top end sense the rebuild on the the top end

The rebuild price is dependant upon what parts need replacing.
Did you get a quote for the rebuild?

    Re: What do you think

Yes they are now built in USA, MO or TN I believe, the early stuff was
suspect buddies 113 has been nothing short of a nightmare in repairs
for what he spent to keep it running he could have bought two SNS engines.

If money isn't an issue get the SNS, find a dealer that can make you a good
    deal, don't pay MSRP,

However the newer Ultimas havent been getting as much bad press.

"built" here is different from where the parts are actually made. My understanding is they are chinese made. Rev-tec is too I believe. That's why they are so cheap.

    Re: What do you think

Money is an issue so is the 107 the same as in the problems , I see a lot of the 107 s being sold on the internet for 2,600 to 2,700 and this is why ive asked so many question about them . Ive gotten a lot of good miles out of my harley EVO but not being that familuer with cycle motors I'm just a little skidesh about going into it , I know auto motors inside and out but they aren't the same

If you know auto engines inside and out...you shouldn't have a problem...seems like some GM parts and sensors are interchangeable lol....Get the service manual and parts catalog and a box or bottle of your favorite beverageand go through the books...:D

Who is the seller? A private Ebay seller or a reputable company?
