Well I did it. I bought a used 2008 Street Glide with 6,485 miles on it, traded the wifes 02 Fatboy plus some cash. I think I got a good deal and I guess that's what counts.
Anyway there was no owners manual with it. I'm looking for an owners manual for touring models plus I'd like a used shop/service manual and a parts manual, if anyone has these items maybe we can strike a deal, pm me or just say it in front of all.

OH yea, I did take it on a 900 mile shake down run over the weekend to Albuquerque, NM and back. Really enjoyed that cruise control.

Congrats, you got a nice bike.
And I agree with you on Cruise control.
It sure makes the ride a little nicer.
Cruise control will definately spoil you.
It's got to be a better bike than a Fat Boy

wouldn't say it is better just different and a bump is still a bump, I really thought it would be smoother.
when you look at the spec's a fatboy has more rear wheel travel than a glide.

thanks for all the input on manuals, I'll find one at one of these places, have a few chrome bucks left may just go to the dealer and order one and get a discount using my HOG membership.
I'll try and get some picture tomorrow.

You may be right on that, she does like it and is planning on learning to ride and handle it.

Congrats, Don. If you get anything from Harley dealers it'll usually end up costing more. Case in point - I neded an oil pump drive gear for my new pump and the J&P catalog said $28 for an S&S. Called our local dealership and they wanted $51! Tattoo Tony has one he's going to GIVE me!

I have several catalogs that list the older Harley manuals and parts catalogs put out by Chilton & Clymer. You should have no trouble finding any.

The bike has been lowered. It don't handle bumps like a Electra Glide does.

I have ridden a lot of Harleys. Have gotten off a Electra Glide many times to ride a Street Glide, had the OL on the back, we would hit a bump and say.
Dang, that hurt, the EG with the Air Shocks don't take a bump anywhere like that. The front and back of the bike has been lowered and don't have the travel. Be glad you don't have rigid......
And the Short windshield that looks COOL lets the air blow yer head off.
Got friends that put the 12" windshield on their STreet Glide and they git a Quick release Tourpack and put it on the bike and for the winter they put some hard lowers with air vents in it.

Now you know why I ride a Ultra. They are a Nice bike all year round, just a little more weitht to handle. But after a while you don't pay it no attention.

Short folks need something they can touch the ground on an a Street Glide is a great compremise. All in all its a good riding bike.
I would want some Progressive shocks on the rear.
