Most cars made today have them, cleans the air coming in through the A/C heater/vent system and they need to be changed, not expensive $10 to $30 depending on model you buy.

Parents dropped off their 99 Lexus RX300, we gave it to them several years ago, it was the wifes, and I am taking it to have a leather seat tear repaired, it's only got 90 K on the clock. Otherwise great shape, noticed the cabin had a musty smell, not surprising figured that cabin filter was the original.

Pulled it out and found this mess, ordered a new one at Advance for $15 will put it in tomorrow.

Think I'll keep the old one to show him.

We bought a used 2007 Sonata in the Fall of '09. Summertime the ac gives off the musty smell when first turned on. Changed that filter, no fix. Flushed all kinds of cleaners and disenfectants down through the vent openings, no fix. I figure the condensention drain is clogged. Short of dropping the whole heater/ac box (taking the dash appart to perform) I gave up. I drive the Sonata now, so no more listening to the complaints from you know who!

The air is so clean and fresh here in the Pacific Northwest that we don't have to worry about it. :D

If I lived where my filter looked like that, why I would move :roflmao:

Central Floreeda you can have. I'd rather deal with winters than summers there. I worked for a short time in Orlando. A sister lived in winter springs summers are murder. East coast of Floreeda is good thanks to the ocean. Through relatives and friends I've spent mucho time in Orange Beach, Daytona Shores, new Smyrna beach, Melbourne and Jupiter all were bearable in the summer . Spent some summer time in Marco Island that was good too thanks to the gulf. Central Floreeda is good fer gators, invasions of frogs, and sweating! Just saying
