HD foot / parade clutch for a 1 armed rider

Hi , i'm kind of lost here & don't know how to use this site at all . Any help would be appreciated . I have one question , does anyone here know anything about foot clutchs for Harleys ? I had a run in with a u-turner back on Nov 16th 2002 . Almost died , they still don't know how I lived , or why I'm not completely paralyzed , or really brain damaged (lol). My right arm is paralyzed , I'm going to ride again , put the throttle on the left . There's some damage to the fingers on my left hand & I don't think I'd be able to handle throttle & clutch together with the same hand.

A few years back late 80's early 90's I ran across an article about a lady joining a MC drill team . She had a parade clutch that she worked with her right heal . If anyone out there knows anything about how I could go about finding a foot / parade clutch I would really like to hear about it . Just want every thing lined up to show my wife that it's possible for me to build a ride that I'll be able to operate .

Our oldest daughter let the insurance co take my bike while I was still in ICU & not expected to live . Now I'm trying hard to get the funds together to get another ride together . Kind of hard to do on my income , but it will come together some how . Ah screw it , nobody likes a whiner, see ya .

I'm pretty sure someone will chime in with some answers for you. I'm too new to give you much help. Too bad the U-turner won't foot the bill for it.

A big Ditto on the enthusiasm to get back on the horse! Glad you're still with us. Just a thought.....there are bikes out there, not harleys, with a CVT. Continuosly variable transmissions, like an automatic.....ever considered one of those? I can't remember who makes them, but I saw a show on them a while back. That would eliminate your need for clutch and shifter, and let you concentrate on enjoying your freedom again. Like I said, just a thought.

Never heard em called parade clutches, all I ever heard was rat trap or suicide clutch. They definately (sp) exist. I saw one on a Pan with an open primary just a week or so ago. There's an organization that help Vets that have lost a limb keep riding, for the life of me I can't think of the name.

I've heard of those CVT's as well. I don't know if HD can assimilate one of 'em, but they are out there. I have to give you Kudo's for your enthusiasm as well. Got a buddy of mine that lost his right leg due to a hit and run cager. Never found him, but he is back on the bike. Awesome to see such determination. Best of luck to ya...

I checked out their website....their auto glide chopper is a sweet looking bike. i wonder if there are used ones around that S.W. could afford to buy, I think he said $$ was an issue, so I don't know if he can go new. It's definately worth a shot. I think he would have to reconfigure the throttle for his left hand? (if I remember correctly) Maybe if he contacted the company he could get some direction. If swapping the throttle is the biggest issue, it can be beaten pretty easily, however, as you stated, I believe the $$ is the biggest obsticle.

s.w. there is a automatic clutch for h-d i just had one done for myself as i lost my left arm.its not a trany its a clutch,it replaces the clutch basket and u still have to shift the bike,but u no longer have to pull a clutch lever.at idle the bike doesnt move u bring up the rs and the clutch kicks in.if you want more info e-mail me be glad to help you out

chuck got tony chrome customs under drivelines its called grandeur auto clutch,this really is a slick outfit.i just had one put in a 97 fatboy along with a push button shifter as i also lost my left leg havent got the bike back yet but they rode it where its being worked on and say its slicker than cat **** on a wet floor,,,,,,hook

can't remimber the outfit but the quickthrottle mag had an ad'er for centrifical/auto clutches

You might look into an air actuated shifter like the drag bikes use, just a thumb control to operate. Can be mounted at throttle.

reesess....i have a push button on mine its electric ands its made by pingel supposed to the best so they say. since they put it on mine two other guys have stoped to see it cause they have the same setup but not a pingel and they have trouble with theres ,now there switching to the pingel.....hook
