Has anyone here decided to pay the ridiculous price that HD is asking for their LED Headlamps? If so, what do you think of them? Are they worth the money that they are asking?

Kuryakyn has a nice LED headlight. HD will cost ya $525 plus tax, the Kuryakyn is $299, has 10 LED's in it. Some of the HD stealerships in my area sell them.

I installed one on a customers 2010 Ultra. Extremely bright, like looking into the sun. However, I don't care for the design of Kuryakyn's LED passing lamps.

Is that what oncoming traffic sees??? I'm all for better lighting, but not at the expense of blinding oncoming traffic...I think that could be more dangerous + pizzing off the rider/driver of the vehicle coming the other way...I know I've been blinded by people with the super bright headlights...felt like putting a bullet through the headlight then another one just above it....

ask your self this question "how much night riding do you really do?" If looks is what you're after that's another question.

DW, I completely get what you are saying about this but my close encounter with two deer last week freaked me out a little. I mean I came close!!! I do not do a heck of a lot of night riding but I do do some.

Ringo, are the Kuryacan LED's a plug and play or do they require rewiring? from what I have read on MOCO web site, theirs is a plug and play.

They do look really bright from the front. When I said it's like looking into to the sun, it was just a figure of speach. If your headlight is aligned properly, I don't think it would be an issue.

Yep, you're right on about alignment, which really is the problem(around where I am anyway) most just replace the headlight and don't bother to align them afterward...it's dangerous,if something or someone was on the road in front of me when these guys are coming I can't see it/them...all I can see is blinding light,it's not just my old tired eyes either,I hear a lot of complaints about it:cussing:

JB, if yer interested in the Kuryakyn headlight, I got one and got it a lot less through a recommendation from HRK. The guy sells at a discount and was a pleasure delaing with. NO ballast to mount, it's all sef contained. If ya want a photo, I'll get it to ya later. I don't think it's a bright as the HD one. BUT, it's better than stock and a lot less. I think the best part is no remote ballast.

    Hey guys,
Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with a good set of halogen headlamps. If the OEM fixture is fundamentally sound, get some high-quality (not the gimmicky blue-tint kind) aftermarket bulbs. You will get bright, white, high-quality light without any worries about the growing pains associated with a brand-new technology.
    Thanks,
    Anthony
