Very interesting comparisons made in "real world" tests. They weren't very nice to the Ford especially when the rear end buckled under the frame-twist test, and braking with a heavy load. Kinda surprised that the Dodge finished 3rd behind Ford in heavy-load acceleration though. My truck is the GMC version of the Silverado.

As you know yer buddy Mr. Obama went in and bailed Chevy out. Made a deal with the Union. Now the Union owns 58% of Chevy.
I was hopin the Union would be out of the picture.

I will never Buy another Chevy for any reason. Best truck, best made truck, cheapest truck. Will not own one.

All I'm gonna say it take a day and go out and eat a small breakfast.
Then go to a couple ford dealers and drive a new Ford truck.
Take your time and look at it and ride it around.
You are not comitted to nothin.
Just a free test ride. I even stopped and put gas in one cause I kept driving it.
    My wife has a 04 F150 FX4 and I have a 99 F250 Powerstroke 4x4 and a 97 E350 Powerstroke.

Don't EVER call Obama my buddy. OK?

As for your assertions on the Ford/Chevy debate--I've owned both for long periods of time and can tell you I can make any vehicle last 300,000 miles.

I bought a 1976 Ford truck with a 390 auto that had 100,000 miles on it already, and drove it another 160,000 miles without ever tearing down the motor. Odometer started over at 0 twice while I owned it. Big gas hog, but good truck.

Next truck was a new '90 Ford with a 460 that was a lemon. Needed a new motor when it threw a piston at 4,000 miles, and new rear axle (factory defective) at 6,000. Thankfully, it was stolen when I was living in Chicago.

My last truck was a '99 Chevy Silverado with a little 327 that I bought new. I built several houses with this truck hauling everything from lumber to a Cat D 6 track-hoe on an 8,000 lb trailer. Drove this truck for 13 years and 285,000 miles without ever going into shop for ANY repairs. And it was still getting 24 mpg when I traded it for this new GMC (it's identical to the '99.)

Say what you will about government bailouts, but don't forget Chrysler was there too. Although I could never bring myself to owning a Chrysler product.

The bailouts bother me a bunch, but I have a 92 Silverado and man I love that truck. Had it longer than one of my daughters  but not near as pretty:) Probably buy another truck when I retire, get rid of car and keep truck and bike... sounds like a plan... :D

These tests said they were done with heavy duty and super duty. Didn't remember anything about engine size or type. As far as I'm concerned and many mechanics that I know personally here the Ford Power Stoke sucks big time. Guys I know have had nothing but problems with em. The Cummins and the Chevy Diesel are far better engines. Chevy bodies over the years have always been very good and one of the best.
I had a 07 Chevy 1/2 ton and that was the most comfortable pickup I have ever owned. We cut back on vehicles and our Dodge was set up for pulling the 5th wheel we had so we kept it, but wished we could have kept the Chevy truck.

And don't ever call me a Obama lover either or I'll be coming down with Alex and packing:rant:

The buy out pissed me off to and would really like to own another 1500 Chevy 4X4 but would now probably settle for second place and get a Ford. If GM pays it back then would reconsider.
I've had em all to and really loved my Chevy truck.:)
