Helicopter fun last week

    On Thursday of this last week, I was involved in an Aircraft Mishap training exercise. This included a Search and Rescue aspect of finding/extricating the pilot. For training purposes, we had to use the hoist and penetrator. (given the actual terrain, we would have actually landed at this location, but used the hoist instead).

    The first picture is me on the ground and the pilot being hoisted.
    The second picture is after the pilot was hoisted, they sent the cable back down for me...that is me going up.
    The third picture is me right at the skid...only about 2-3 more feet up and they would swing me into the chopper.

    It was a great time, weather was nice, and everyone learned a bunch from the exercise. Enjoy the pictures!

    I love that picture of the helicopter blades, they look like there standing still and a little bent, great photos and bet it was fun.
