Friday night the president of the Hells Angels Stockton chapter was shot to death in a confrontation with Vagos members in a Sparks NV casino. This has led to Sparks NV canceling their participation in this year's Street Vibrations rally.

That's where we had our annual HOG taining last March. Just unacceptable at any of the bike rallies. The gangs should all be banned from all these type of rallies, who needs em.

The Mongols are back to wearing their colors to. Why do these gangs need to exist. I guess because they have nothing better to do then play the king of the hill so to speak. However, it's going to harm all of us I'm afraid in the long run. :(

The biker gangs have always been with us, but they are getting more pervasive and violent. In case anyone's noticed, the whole world is going the same route - route 666 . . . .

It is a shame that Sparks shut down Saturday, as that was the focus of some good outfits (Progressive Suspensions, Dragonfly fairings and audio, and more) but the best partying was back to Virginia St in Reno and Virginia City. I got to visit Sparks on Thursday and Friday, and Reno and VC on Friday and Saturday. Am just now recovered from it all! Probably the best Street Vibes in years, despite the chaos in Sparks.

Ya also have to give the 1% crowd a tiny bit of credit - sure, they shut down Sparks (overreaction in the local view), but they only shot each other....not like the jackwagon non-biker gangs that shoot the bystanders and miss their targets. I'd rather be in the middle of a biker war than any other lame-azz gang fight. At least they shoot straight!

One thing I did notice this year vs. last - last year there were cops with M-16s and MP-5s all over the place, this year the police/sherrif presence was a lot lower....and regular folks got to have a better time. What price freedom? There was still a whole lot of fun for the (mostly) law-abiding crowd. Personally, I was comfy with the way things went....and had a great time! And so did my wife, who finally road with me on Saturday (she's also a Gulf War veteran, and wasn't gonna let a few shots keep her home).

All things considered, at least it was a biker thing, and not the family-friendly Reno Air Races that we went to...that sucked FAR worse.

There was a innocent biker shot while riding his bike down the street in Sparks. It was reported that the shots came from a car with very tinted windows. No, can 't say it was from the 1% but seems to coincide with what happened.
Still we can do without them at the rallies.

That innocent biker you refer to just happened to be a Vagos member, according to Sparks' mayor. But he was still innocent (until proven guilty).

Red here is the news report from channel 2 in Reno.

Here is part of what it said.

Meanwhile, another shooting happened the next day, just about a mile east of the Nugget around 10:45 a.m. near the Windsor Inn on Victorian Avenue. Police say a motorcyclist was driving down the street when a car pulled alongside the biker and shot him in the stomach.

Witnesses say they saw two people in a black, 4-door 3 Series BMW, with tinted windows driving west on Victorian Avenue at a high rate of speed immediately after the shooting.

Police tell us they cannot definitively link the two shootings at this time.

    :roflmao:

Notice carefully, they said "Police tell us they cannot definitively link the two shootings at this time. " :roflmao: Really, I have to wonder where you got the idea the biker was an innocent, as no story I heard or read said that.

The city/state wanted to keep things low-key - so details were ommited from the story at first. Later, Reno Police Department Lt. Amy Newman stated that the second shooting was "definitely" revenge.

But, hey, you can believe whatever you want. Us here weren't quakin' in our boots or pssing our pants about it, though.
