help an idiot

    was TRYING to rejet my carb on 04 nite train and I'll emphasize trying

    bike will idle a little rough till it warms..
    give it gas and it stalls.. and the plugs are fowling
    I even went back to the original jets.. no go there same problem
    is there something i'm doin wrong or not doing thats might cause this

    i changed both jets and the needle

    The flood

    Sounds to me like a flooding issue. Could be you disturbed the float and now the valve is not seating properly. Or You may also need to adjust the low speed/pilot jet. It could also be you have to change the position of the clip on the needle. Clip at the top (lean), clip at the bottom (rich).

    Check the float in the bowl, you may have jamed or stuck it in a position that is letting fuel flow through. Even though the intake is above the carb, the intake is below the tank, gravity will work to pull fuel through.

    Check the oil for gas in it too, if you've really flooded the bike then change the oil and filter as well.

    I doubt the jet or needle change was causing this if it happens when you go back, also make sure the carb is level.
