Help re-installing exhaust on 2022 xl 883

    Having trouble installing exhaust, it seems everything is matched up, used new gaskets, but when riding bike get's extremely hot any ideas or help would be great..Thanks

    Did you previously install after-market pipes and have the carb re-jetted? If so, you may be running lean. A lean condition would cause the engine to run hotter.

    Had to remove stock exhaust to install some chrome covers on engine, no other modifications were done.

    Other than re-checking the seating of the pipes to the jugs to make sure the gaskets seated properly and flush, I'm stumped!

    Could it be the chrome covers are retaining engine heat?? :confused: Look at what you have changed and work backwards.

    What gets hot? The exhaust? The engine? Please give more details.
