    Hello,
    Long time, no post...
    I got a 1999 FXST (soft tail)
    its all stock suspension wise.
I just changed engine oil, primary chain case oil (& its not the chain)
I have this nagging squeak when i suddenly decellerate ie hitting a bump or or just throttling back.
The noise only occcurs when the clutch is engaged. That is to say, When I run over bumps & otherwise try to listen for the squeal/squeak while holding the clutch in.....no squeak..!?

The service writer at HD stealership says my belt is too tight. It may be but thats strange I havent adjusted it in a year of owning this bike. Logic tells me a belt would stretch over time not get tighter...
In any case since the sound doesnt occur when runnin along in "Georgia overdrive" ( Nuetral and or clutch in ) I suspect the belt....
pardon my ignorance but is one sposed to apply a little belt dressing once in a while???

    Any constructive thoughts welcome..
    smartass remaks reciprocated LOL
    Thanks in advance

no belt dressing!! the manual give directions on how to adjust the belt. on geezer glides it shows two different ways.......one with the bike loaded and one without. not sure on your model. also make sure the wheel is straight and inline. this is also outlined in the manual. different measurements for different bikes. i believe your swing arm has a hole drilled in each side for a measuring device. i use a straight piece of wire with an L bend in the end. the L fits in the hole, then measure back to the center of the axle. do this to both sides, keeping in mind the tension on the belt.....all this is explained in the manual, with pics!!!!!,,,,,,,hope this helps, let us know!!!!!!!!!:)

from what your saying sounds like the clutch / T bearing . you say it only squeaks when the handle is not pulled in , The caBLE PULLS IT IN & PUTS PRESSURE ON IT & STOPS MAKEING THE NOISE
